Malton, Norton & District Lions are perhaps best known for their Santa Sleigh that brings Santa Claus to the children and grown-ups alike in our community at Christmas. What is less well known, is the work that the Lions Club do behind the scenes to help local people who have fallen on hard times and who might previously have been helped by social services before the many cutbacks.

If you want to give something back into your community, we have informal monthly meetings at The Talbot Hotel, Malton to discuss how we spend the money we have raised and how we might raise some more. In addition to supporting local schools and clubs, young carers, older persons services, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Ryedale Special Families, we hold social events including BBQs, summer lunches, wine tasting, and even tossing horseshoes!

Our membership is made up of men and women from all sorts of backgrounds …. and we don’t wear ties anymore!

So if you are new to the area and would like to meet like-minded people and make new friends or perhaps you already know us through working on the Sleigh, then there is a ‘Meet the Lions’ evening where you can learn more on Wednesday 6th August at The Pizza on Square.
You will need a ticket but why not give LION NICK a quick call in the first instance for an informal chat  07553 882676.

Email Lion President Nick at nicksimpson@btinternet.com, or just telephone on 07553 882676.
