We’ve had an increase in people asking for help already this summer, and we are expecting more. We know how tough it can be, so we’ve put together a few resources that might help Malton, Norton and District residents. If you have any other suggestions to support those who are struggling with bills then please get in touch and we will add the details to our page.

Food Bank

https://www.ryedalecommunityfoodbank.co.uk/

To get a food voucher you can call the FREE Advice line service on 0808 278 7900 (Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm) to speak to Malton Citizens Advice who will be able to issue you with a food bank voucher if necessary.

Citizens Advice

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/

If you are in financial crisis and live in England or Wales, please call 0808 208 2138 for free (open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) to talk confidentially with a trained Citizens Advice adviser. They can help address your crises and provide support to maximise your income, help you navigate the benefits system and identify any additional money or grants. If needed, they’ll issue you with a voucher so you can get an emergency food parcel from your local food bank.

Malton and Norton Lions Club

Please ask your social worker or another similar agency to refer you via our website contact form. We can help with all sorts of things. Recently we have supplied and delivered pre-owned furniture that we’ve had donated to local residents, and have made a contribution towards heating oil. We have also arranged for packs of essential household items for those who have been homeless or care leavers who are setting up their own home. Our Trustees can quickly arrange for support to be provided.
